Pip and uc and disability element
I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about me and my daughter both getting pip whether I had to tell uc I had been awarded. Im still not sure on things or how it works. As I don’t want to get into trouble . I’m so worried.
I’m on uc and I’ve just been awarded pip, my daughter is on pip too. I also get disability element for her. Should I be getting this? Do I need to tell uc?
I just don’t want to do the wrong thing and end up paying lots of money back.
sorry for the long post. Thankyou

Congratulations on your PIP award. Yes, tell UC about it but do not rely on the narcissistic DWP staffs to tell you additional benefits you may be entitled to.

thanks for the reply. I was just worried about claiming the disability element for her as we both get pip. They don’t tell you these things

Hi,
You are still entitled to claim the Child Disability Element while you claim PIP yourself.
This doesn't actually need to be reported to UC. But you can do for your own peace of mind if preferred.
