DWP review

Hi DWP asked me for 4 months bank statements , passport for id and my tenancy agreement or rent book.i rent of my Mum and haven't always paid through the bank for the last few years although first fee years I paid through the bank stating it as rent. I'm really anxious cos paid in cash - anyone related to this or have had this situation -TIA for replys x

It sounds like you've randomly been chosen to take part in a UC review, which is happening to a tonne of people currently, so please try not to worry, you've done absolutely nothing wrong. They just want to check you're getting the right level of beneits and that there's no fraud going on.
If you've paid in cash, just tell them that, it shouldn't be a problem, especially if the bank statements will show regular payments marked as rent coming out. Though if you're claiming housing benefit, there may be an issue.0
