Carers Allowance - Updated a change

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help. I started a new job on Monday and have updated carers allowance just now. My earnings every week will be £161 - therefore under the threshold. However, after I submitted the change it said I need to send in (by post!) payslips. I won't get my first wage/payslip until next Thursday (3rd July) so does this mean by CA is going to stop until they receive proof that my earnings are below the threshold? Must admit I am panicking now as every single penny is accounted for and I assumed that as my wages are low, it wouldn't stop the CA.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks in advance.

Hi @gemurray and a warm welcome to the community!
Your Carer’s Allowance shouldn’t stop just because they’ve asked for your payslip. They need to check that your earnings stay under the limit which you’ve already confirmed. It’s a good idea to send them a quick note now explaining that you’ve just started the job and will send your first payslip as soon as you get it on 3rd July.
As long as they know what’s happening, payments usually continue in the meantime. If you’re unsure, you can always give the Carers Allowance Unit a call on 0800 731 0297 just to double-check and put your mind at ease😊

Thank you for replying. I'm glad to hear that it should continue! I will hopefully get my payment on Monday as usual, fingers crossed!
