False memories
I have a head full of things that never happened to me
I used to drink quite heavily but an accident 35 years ago put paid to that – I fell in the road and damaged my basal ganglia which affected my movement and memory as well as speech – at least this is what I have spent the last 35 years believing – but the truth is that the damage was caused by A&E not being quick enough in providing me with oxygen after several fits – this physically damaged my brain…….…Then I was released, from hospital, after just 3 days after arriving in a coma !!
I had no physio therapy and no rehab at all.
This was only discovered from my medical records, obtained through a Subject Action Request (SAR).
Had I been the correct treatment, drugs and oxygen at the time, maybe I would not be HERE today - maybe I would not have spent my whole life struggling to do everything.
I even had a knee replacement operation in 2016 because of poor mobility linked to my head injury.
