I haven't been to tribuneral (yet) but incase I have to could someone in the know answer my question.

so if you go to tribuneral and are awarded when the award is coming to a end and you have to reknew. Will you have to reapply of won through tribuneral? Will it count as a new application?

I ask because of the bs pitch Starmer made about people already claiming not being affected by the new rules or cuts.

As all they'd have to do is make you go to tribuneral let you win then when you're award runs out state its a new award and then you held by the new rules.

I don't agree with it only applying to new claims regardless.

Hi,

The tribunal award starts from your initial claim date. The tribunal decide how long to award you.

So if you waited 12 months for tribunal, and the tribunal only award you 18 months, then you would almost immediately be reviewed as an existing claimant.

You would only be a new claimant if you start a new claim rather than completing the tribunal process.

Is there anything with that in writing as I have spoken to people who have said it was a new claim after tribuneral

I don't have a link to anything official I'm afraid.

That is how it used to work before Covid. But I won my tribunal during Covid, and then had a renewal a couple of years later. I've seen many other people get the same on here as well.

I can't remember the last person I saw who had to make a complete new claim instead of renewing after tribunal.
