Transitional protection

My neighbour just got her notification that she has been moved onto Universal credit with transition protection.
I have not yet received mine to move from ESA to Universal credit, but I have received a letter today telling me that my PIP expires December 2025 and that I need to process a new claim for PIP. I want to know if re-applying for PIP will be classed as a change in circumstance and as a result I won't get transitional protection when my migration letter arrives?

I have no worries about getting PIP again or scoring 4 points in a category, just want to know about the new claim for PIP vs transitional protection?

Hi,
PIP has nothing to do with Transitional Protection.
TP is calculated based on your ESA payment when you migrate to UC.
