Eczema and chopping and peeling

I having difficulty getting Occupational Therapist to admit I have issues with chopping and peeling (for the Adult Disability Payment form).

She is refusing to give me support because she hasnt seen my hands in flare (I have severe eczema that affects my hands); I have been seen by others in the department with my hands in flare, but this is not being taken into account.

I cant understand why its not obvious that hands that crack and bleed have trouble with chopping and peeling etc. Or why skin sensitive to veg juices has its skin barrier destroyed by trying to prepare veg (I have problems with gloves so cant use them). Its baffling to me why I keep having to explain this issue and its not being understood- has anyone else experienced this?

That sounds amazingly frustrating @Slonvinton sorry you're having to deal with this. Is someone from the team able to maybe write a letter stating they've seen your hands during a flare up?

Ive sent an email to them asking this, but not had a reply yet. It does seem as if this is something they could have thought of themselves though so I dont expect anything back except an excuse as to why that isnt possible.

Im very reluctant to allow my hands to go into flare by trying to chop and peel (as some sort of show and tell) because it took me years to get the last continuous flare under control with lifestyle restrictions (that included not chopping and peeling more than a few times a month)
