Hi, my name is fizz1! It can be quite a lonely place as a carer.

Hi everyone, I'm a carer for my son who is severely disabled, I also work part time as a teaching assistant.

Heya @fizz1 and welcome to the community.
So what brings you here today? If you need help with anything, please just ask away and we'll all do our best to support you.
Or if you just fancied a light hearted chat, or a few easy games, I'd recommend checking out the coffee lounge and the games den.0 -
Thanks Albus, I just wanted to connect with others in a similar situation to myself. It can be quite a lonely place as a carer. So many of the carers groups I see are on during the day when I'm at work.

Hi @fizz1 Welcome to the Community from me too. It can be very isolating being a carer and you are never free to just accept any invitations without having to arrange care and then at the last minute it can fall through because the person you care for is having a bad day.
You loose a lot of friends because they do not really understand. I even had to tell my friends not to phone me I would phone them because I did not know when I would be free.
We do it because we love then but it is very hard and sometimes I think we loose our identity.
Take care.
