Still waiting. How do UC know your address to send a migration letter?

Hi there everyone , Just an update
My daughter is on ESA, support group pip housing benefit . She still hasn't received migration letter yet and now it's July 2025 .
Just a query how do UC know your address to send the migration letter too . Do ESA inform them is it all linked . Were do they get the address from I know it's a silly question ,But she moved last year and updated her addresses with ESA and pip . Thanks

I believe they will be sending out letters up until December.

Hello @rita444
They are sending migration notices until September, with most people transitioned by December, so there it may be a little while yet.
The DWP send the migration notices and they will have her address from her claim with ESA.

The migration timetable changed a few months ago, letters are now being sent up until September.

The ESA and the UC are not departments within the DWP, leave alone separate ones. They are just two different types of benefits administered by the DWP. They do interact and are linked with each other and both use the single system of the DWP which manages both. Therefore, the UC can get anyone's address from the ESA, provided they're an ESA claimant.
The ESA to UC migration invitation letter, also known as a Migration Notice, is sent out by the DWP and not the ESA or the UC, as these are not departments within the DWP.
Hope this helps.
