Reassurance needed please.

Hello.... I was wondering if anyone could reassure me about going from income related ESA to UC.

I received a letter dating the 9th July to say that my income related ESA is ending and then I got another letter saying about the end of the claim and the amount of money I've received with the financial year of ESA from April 2024 to July 2025. And I owe no tax of £0.00

I rang ESA in a panic and they reassured me twice that I was on income related ESA, and that contribution based ESA was never added onto my claim as I haven’t worked before, except for permitted work through ESA but they only lasted a month and two months within 3 job roles.. I wasn't earning enough to gain national insurance contributions if that makes sense.

My local job centre have reassured me alongside CAB that its an automated letter that everyone gets when their ESA ends and there is nothing to worry about as you don't owe any tax. Please reassure me.

I do apologise that I've made a separate post before about my income related ESA to UC managed migration but I'm just terrified of UC.

I’ve recently migrated from ESA to UC and got an identical letter. Have you also received a P45 from ESA? They’re both completely normal, you don’t need to do anything but file them away somewhere safe

Hi Hopeless, thank you for your comment.. I binned the tax forms as I would not need them as I will not be looking for work any time soon, however I have kept the letters.

I'm really stressing out and have been reassured by ESA that my claim has only ever been income related.

It looks like everyone is saying "Don't worry, it's normal" to you, so I think you need to be listening to them. It's ok, don't worry please. 😁
