I am going for my left TKR on 11th August, I have moderate arthritis on my left knee but the reason for TKR is I have an injury to the same knee which occurred 3 months ago resulted a complete tear in the meniscus which cannot be repaired.

I am terrified about the Surgery and the post op recovery .

I am female 59 years old healthy adult with no medical issues, also not on any regular medication.

I like to hear other people's experiences.

Ive had major surgery. I like you was terrified.

What id say is make sure you have a nice lip balm as you have sore lips after anesthetic.

Ive heard many stories about knee replacement, most are positive, that I cant help with, but I can say being knocked out is very simple but speak to them let them know your fears, you won't be the first. You fall asleep very quickly, I remember feeling im not tired at all, then instant sleep.

They will have good pain management after, but you will be very drowsy the first day, and most like a few days after. Dont push yourself and obey the instructions.

Also don't be hard on yourself about being scared, its the unknown. Its going to be ok, just don't Google.

    It will be worth it.
