Hi, my name is marsbars28! If I stop being a carer will my UC increase?

hi does anyone know what will happen in the following scenario
currently receive universal credit after a migration notice.
I get standard allowance, housing, lower capability and work related activity and payment protection.
I am currently a carer so the amount of carers allowance is taken off my universal credit each month.
does anyone know if I stop being a carer, will the amount that my universal credit increase based on the fact I’m not receiving carers allowance, if so will my payment protection payment be reduced?

Yes the amount of UC that you receive will increase due to the deduction stopping.
I don't think your TP will reduce, because with UC first your entitlement is added up, then any deductions are made.
Your entitlement won't change and it's increases in entitlement that reduces Transitional Protection.
I however am not a trained benefits advisor, you might want to check with someone who is.
