Two Week Run On Benefits Following Migration

I completed my migration notice to universal credit today. I submitted my online form. I was informed to let my council know because they pay my council tax reduction. However, when I informed the council benefits department they suspended my housing benefit. I don't believe this is right because I believe that there should be a 2 week run on my housing benefit when I migrate to universal credit before it is stopped. I was told they are waiting for universal credit to sort out my claim before even deciding whether to pay me the 2 week run. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes there should be a two week run on as standard.

While local authorities should be used to people claiming UC by now, perhaps you encountered an inexperienced or poorly trained staff member.
