Hi, my name is sim2008! Asked for proof of address that I don't have, what can I do?
I've been on uc last few years as I have several arthritis in both knees and ankle ..I was on the basic rate of 340a month ..I've just had a new knee replacement and was awarded lcwra. I've been living with parents and have just got a room to rent 600 a month..I've uploaded tenancy agreement and along with a letter from the landlady. Waking up this morning to a message saying they need proof of my driving licence or bank statement?now firstly I have no letters to correspondence to this new address..I've explained to them I haven't yet changed my licence over ..but this is temporary accommodation..it's like baging my head against a wall the system doesn't work

Hi @sim2008, welcome to the community. That sounds frustrating! What did they say when you explained you couldn't provide the driving licence or statements? Did they say anything about an alternative way to sort things?
Hopefully they can verify it all in another way.

Thanks for replying..I can't keep changing driving licence or statements when this is temporary accommodation.logically you wouldn't do it?they have proof of tenancy agreement and a letter uploaded by the landlady..I spoke to someone today and they said I must use the journal..waste of time.ive now told them I would like to go in personally with documents and give them myself..no reply..it's crazy

That's totally understandable! It can be a frustrating system sometimes @sim2008. It can take a few days for them to reply to things but fingers crossed they can find another way to verify your details and get you sorted. Just frustrating that it's taking extra time and stress for you to get it done!
