Hi, my name is SSL! What's the last date I should have been paid child element?
Hello advice please…… I was advised by UC that my Son would remain on my claim until the day he moves out for Uni (as he will not be doing approved training or a course of non-advanced education which averages over 12 hours per week during summer, therefore child element reamins in place until after August - UC wording in journal). However, after September they have said they overpaid for all of summer as he should have been removed from my Claim in June (last day of 6th form). I know friends in the same position have not had money reclaimed. Can anyone advise of share any official UC wording that would support my position. I am taking them to tribunal. Thanks.

Unfortunately advice given via Journal or helpline is often wrong.
Point 3.
I don't know whether Tribunal is likely to be successful but it sounds like you have grounds for a formal complaint.

Thank you Kimi87. Yes, very often confusing advice. Told twice by two different people in my journal what to do and incorrect advice apparently which leaves me out of pocket. I have had one hearing which was adjourned so back again in a couple of weeks. At the very least my aim is to highlight the issues with the process and lack of staff training, which in turn means claimaints are not treated equally. Thanks for your response.
