Hi, my name is pennynickels! Will I get extra money and is it backdated?

Hi so I'm on pip enhanced rate and on transition protection on UC and I get severe disability but now my son has been awarded DLA .so I contacted UC told them and was told 8 would get extra money plus was expecting backdated money and put in for care componate in there rather than putting in for carers allowance but now I'm told that I am entitled the the disabled child element but cos 8 get transistnal protect one cancels other and I get 72pence ?? Even though 8 spoke to two different people and was told 8 would get alot extra and the money would be backdated to when my son's award began which would be three months .then she said 8 can put in for carers allowance but that they take off UC at end off year .I'm still confused .can anybody help just want to know if money goes up and if I'm getting backdated money and if 8 put in for carers allowance rather than care componate will it mess my UC up

Yes Transitional Protection reduces when your UC entitlement goes up.
So it was correct that it reduced by the DCE amount.
This can mean you are no better off financially as has happened in your case.
You presumably get LCWRA element, this means you cannot get Carers Element. Under UC the same person cannot get both.
Carers Allowance is deducted in full from your UC award so there would be no financial gain to claiming.
