At my wits end. Migrating to UC, losing my much needed ESA and HB/CT

Hi, when I moved here 10 years ago, a solicitor wrote a letter for me to give to the DWP et el. Basically saying not to use the property I jointly own in means testing. I had to migrate on 13.8.25 and my claim was closed on 15.8.25. Decision Maker had looked up similar properties and informed me the house was worth £600,000.00 which I can assure you it's not. My elderly husband lives there and he has carers. I had a terminal diagnosis of breast cancer in 2015 and have been suffering since from the side effects of the treatment and other illness. They have stopped my ESA, HB and CT relief. Thank God I still have PIP. I have sent a letter in to the whole shebang with shed loads of evidence. The letters from my oncologist, OT and doctor can't be clearer that I need this support. I'm clearing my debts with an organisation. I did a mandatory assessment on the phone, because I hadn't realised there was a form on the Government website. I wake up everyday feeling like I don't want to be here any more. I have worked in very responsible positions for 0ver 30 years, but they forget that. Slogging through cancer, I wonder why? Is there anything else I should be doing? Many, many thanks, sarah

Hi @Sazzle66 I'm so sorry to read about everything you're going through and how difficult it must be to fight this decision. Mandatory reconsideration is the next step in the process so you've done the right thing and it sounds like you've sent a lot of evidence to back your claim.
You could reach out to a benefits specialist who might be able to offer some guidance through the process which might put your mind at ease a little bit. Both Citizens Advice and Turn2us might be able to support with this. I'm also going to pop you an email separately with some other signposting so please keep an eye out for it.

The ESA and HB stopped as a result of your application to UC.
CT relief is manged by your local authority.
Property other than your place of residence can be disregarded in some circumstances.
Hopefully the outcome of your MR confirms your situation is eligible.
