UC migration online form or telephone ?
Hi ive got to migrate over from ESA support group to UC by the mid November. Are we better doing it over the telephone or doing it on the online form please ? I heard that there can be issues if its done over the phone .

Hi,
If you do it online you get access to an online account to see your statements and make changes and contact UC staff.
If you start it over the phone then you don't get online access and have to phone UC to do all of the above in future.

It is probably better to have an on line claim if you can manage this. If you are unsure then I would suggest that you contact the Help to Claim Service operated by Citizens Advice. You can find their details at
Contact us about a Universal Credit application - Citizens Advice
As well as advising you on when and how best to make a claim then can carry out a UC calculation for you. You can access the service up until you receive your first correct payment of UC so if you think that your first payment is incorrect they can provide further advice.
