Help and advice needed : Migration notice received
I am receiving ESA and PIP, I am in the support group of ESA and have been since the initial assessment.
The migration notice arrived today and I have looked online but am now even more anxious than when I opened the letter
Back when we were getting the cost of living payments, I was told that my ESA was both income related and new style. Totally confused I gave up asking what it all meant and was grateful for the help. A third person told me that I didn;t get the very first cost of living payment because there was also a contribution element as well. So you can imagine how confused I was and still am to be honest.
This migration notice has really stirred up all my anxieties. My biggest worry is can my Housing association landlord still receive Housing Benefit direct or am I going to have to manage that,
Also how does the migration affect my PIP.
Any and all advice/reassurance will be SOOO welcome
My PIP review has been with the DWP since July 2024 and I am wondering if the migration is the true reason for the delay or whether they are just waiting until I reach 65 on 24th December so I can no longer apply for a motability vehicle. Advice on thid as well will be really welcome too
Thanks in advance
Kim

See this thread for information on what happens when you migrate to UC with a mixed ESA award:
Once you've applied for UC online, you will have access to your account known as the Journal. You can write a note on your Journal requesting that Housing Element be paid directly to your Landlord.
Citizens Advice have a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after your claim.
PIP is unaffected by migration to UC.
PIP reviews are delayed across the board, it is administered entirely separately from UC. Reviews are so delayed people are getting review forms a year in advance of their award running out.
Personally as your review has gone on for 14 months I would ring PIP and enquire as to what is happening.
