Hi, my name is Noodlez! Do I have to wait for my LCWRA?

            Hello everyone,
So, I have been unfit for work since March and have been providing sick notes to UC since. I have now had a assessment and am in LCWRA catogory, Sept. Do I still have a 3 month wait ahead of me before payments start? I'm really confused. Any advice appreciated, Thank You

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your award. This dates from the first Fit Note, assuming there were no gaps. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period. A few questions to advise further: What date did you report the health condition? What date did you submit the first Fit Note? Do you have any Transitional Protection on your claim? Were there any gaps in Fit Notes? Please note it's the date they are given to UC that counts, not the start date written on them. Do you claim UC with a partner who gets LCWRA themselves? Finally what is your Assessment Period? 0

What is your Assessment Period? The dates which your payment is calculated from each month. 0

My estimate of your waiting period based on the information given. March/April: AP 1 (as you reported & handed in FN within 7 days at the beginning of your AP) April/May: AP 2 May/June: AP 3 June/July: Eligible for LCWRA element. July 13th: First LCWRA element paid. Up until today you are owed 3 months LCWRA. Even though you've received the decision, UC need time to process everything. Backpay is calculated separately and this usually takes several weeks at least. You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount owed due to underpayment. The money will then be paid within a few working days. 0
