Hi, my name is mmc66! Should I claim carers allowance before moving over to UC?

hi Iv been on PIP and joint ESA with my husband since 2019 I get carers for him my son lives with us but has mental health issues and also get ESA and PIP we just going to put over to UC and they noticed no get carers allowance for me Iv been told I should be getting SDP and should claim it before going any further with my UC transfer and for it to back dated from when I 1st started getting PIP is this correct please

Does your husband get PIP?
The rules on how to qualify for SDP are here:
If you do qualify then yes you should it before migration to UC.

yes we both get pip I get carers allowance for him but no one gets carers allowance for me Iv been getting pip since 2015 and been told I should be getting SDP is that right
