Joint account
In 2009 I started my claim ... It was for incapacity benefit, then changed to ESA , now a mix of ESA and UC .... Anyway when I started it I was asked to give an account with my details on it , I only ever had a joint cash builder account that my mum had opened for me when I was ten ( 1990 ) , I don't think we ever told DWP that it was joint as we were never told anything , it was my claim and we have them a account that included my details , even though my mum was first signature on the book .... My incapacity benefit and ESA got paid into that up until may of this year when I decided to close it and have my ESA payed into the same account as my UC .... The joint account was only ever used for my benefits and transfering money between my other accounts , my mum would lend me money through the month , it would be from her own debit card account into my UC receiving debit card account and then when my ESA would hit our joint account she would transfer what I owed her from that back into her own account that she had originally sent me money from .... This account has never had any savings other than years ago when I had a backdated payment from the DWP of 3450 , that was gone in hours .... This joint account was a cash builder account that didn't produce statements, so when I closed it I asked the bank if they could make me some statements, they did .... They have my name , address a nationwide logo and a nationwide stamp , nationwide wide address , what account it was , the transactions dated for nearly six months , the account number , the ins and outs and a running balance and account closure .... Now the DWP were never told it was joint and the these statements don't mention my mum on them .... I'm just really worried as I read something about joint accounts not being declared .... Im hoping they accept these modified statements are that the account is closed and that will be the end of it .... Or have I done something wrong and they will trawl through my banking history .... I had two undeclared accounts , one for 8 years and one for 8 months , both closed for over 5 years and 7 years respectively , never no savings but alot of transactions I would have to explain and I don't want them getting uncovered because I don't think I'd be able to deal with it .... I'm really scared
