Housing
I've been reading about the housing situation. My friend was saying that her best friend did a homeless application. They have been sofa surfing at multiple places each night a different place. Sometimes having to sleep outside.
The council say they need an eviction notice. As there is no fixed adress and they currently have the job centre as there adress for uc.
They can't get a job until have a adress and are attending courses and meeting there commitments looking for work.
The call from council say they need an eviction notice. As there is no tenancy or adress what there options.
No one can help them with this as they have there own situations and settings.
Is there any advice I can give as she is fretting . She can't help her best friend either

Hi @charlie79, that sounds like a really tough situation for that person.
Do you know if they have any vulnerabilities? Things like having health issues or disability, being pregnant, or being at risk of domestic abuse? That would put them as a priority for help but doesn't necessarily mean they'd be able to be housed right away:
Unfortunately due to the severe lack of social housing in some areas it can be hard to get the council to sort something quickly if they're not seen as vulnerable and the places that they're staying are safe.
Have they spoken to Shelter? I'm sure they'd have some useful ideas.
They might also like to speak to their local councillor or MP for further advice:
