Problems with PA
Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
Looking for your thoughts.
I have a PA, had them six months now all going great.
Recently they needed to change the time of the visit because they had appointments they couldn't reschedule. It meant my visit was cut short.
Usual visit is 9am till 11am. They couldn't come until 12pm and I was only free for an hour, although they could give me the full two hours.
Then they changed the times again and actually didn't turn up at all as got stuck in traffic and by 1pm I cancelled.
So the latest is I get two days notice that my day is changing and I am not free on that day. I want to know your thoughts because I am considering dropping my hours because I keep being messed about. It's making me question whether I can do things myself and to contact social services and ask them to drop my hours.
I haven't thought of dropping them, it's making me question me for not being free when they say.
First experience of a commissioned PA because I figured this would be easier for me.
Thanks in advance for your replies, enjoy your day

I have one here every other morning for an hour Whistles, at the time I chose.
This can require negotiation between ourselves and the companies involved, I've variously changed mine in the five years I've had them. That's involved three different companies.
Give and take can help to a degree but I'd certainly complain (and organise something else) if they couldn't accommodate the times I required.
Maybe that's just me?
Good luck

They don't seem to give me a thought, just some that they can change the day with 48 hours notice and I am expected to be okay with that.
I am not free, it wasn't discussed last week that this might happen. So I think I will need to have a word.
They've not responded to my reply that I can't do this day, so I fear this week I won't get the time I need.

If something changes on the day like traffic or weather then they can't really help that. I have the same problem with the relative that gets my shopping etc. Sometimes they're a lot later than expected but it's no-ones fault.
But I wouldn't accept simply being told that the day is being changed without asking if that's suitable. I agree that you should speak to them about that and consider changing them if it's going to happen regularly now.

I have sent three messages and not had a reply to any of them that I can't do tomorrow.
It's causing me so much stress that I was sick last night.
This week is going to be short of the support I need again.
