UC with SDP transitional protection after migrating from ESA
Hi,
Has anyone here been on Universal Credit with SDP transitional protection after migrating from ESA and then later had someone apply to be their carer (either Carer’s Allowance or the Carer Element)?
If so, did it affect your transitional element at all?
Just trying to understand how it works in real-life situations. Thanks.

That won't have any impact on your Transitional Protection.

Thanks very much. I did ask scope and they said unlikely but cant be 100 percent sure. Even though the protection was because of the sdp. Ill have a read of this . Thanks

Severe Disability Premium doesn't exist under Universal Credit, the reason you get TP doesn't matter. It's counted simply as Transitional Protection another element that makes up your UC award

OK thank you very much for the information and reassurance. 😊

Hello @chanel12345, could I check if this was Scope's Helpline you spoke with?
