Bedroom tax and UC

Hello I posted recently about my tenancy changing and trying to get answers to questions about it going forward as I believe it is imminent.

I officially share a 2-bed flat with another person and we have agreed to end the tenancy. The housing has kindly offered to let me stay in the 2-bed and bring the rent down significantly, which is top rate of the LHA in Manchester.

However, they have spoken about the bedroom tax and because of deductions and general bills, I could do without it at the moment and wondering if there is any possibility to avoid this as I have a disability. I receive UC and PIP. I am also wondering if DHP could help towards this.

The monthly bedroom tax could end up being quite significant.

Thanks for your help.

I understood from your previous threads you private rent is that correct?

Bedroom tax only applies to social housing.

    Hi @NewTime

If you're private renting then you don't have to worry about bedroom tax😊
