About the Universal Credit claim Review

Hai ,

Today I receive a message in journal that I have a universal credit claim review by telephone appointment on next month April 17th I many times I played gambling in and out and I also win under £6K , I also open new account but in that I apply overdraft of £3500 this I no declare to Universal credit and I transfer the payments transaction of universal credit in drifferent accounts , UC is in joint name and my husband bank account also apply for bank overdraft £1000 not declare to UC so what UC agent ask questions to me in phone appointment regarding if anyone can answer me it will helpful and less stressful. As living with 3 children with lots of health issues ....Thanks

Can UC ask you what you spend your money on? Also, if you have other money i.e. pension income, can they ask what you spend that on? Thank you

Yes they often will ask about individual transactions.

Because Universal Credit is means tested they will look for things like deliberate deprevation of capital.

It makes no difference to the review process whether you only get Universal Credit or other income as well.

To answer the OP please make sure you have supplied UC with statements for all accounts, not just the one the UC is paid into.

They won't be interested in overdrafts.

Thanks for yur responce ....and Will my payments will continue as there is a payment on 4th April will i receive this money in my bank account until claim review is on April 17th 2026 and ii was getting Child benefit payments that I no declare to UC ( Universal Credit ) and what about online games & Robolox kids games in that question will come or reduce the payment because of playing games anyone know about it will help to me Thanks 😊

If the account is closed of bank account before submitting the bank statements the question will come on bank accounts plz anyone have gone through like this situation plz respond me Thanks .

Payment will continue throughout the review.

I believe UC will already know about Child Benefit though I'm not 100% sure.

They do ask about transactions shown on your bank statements, but it's not possible to predict exactly what each individual will be asked.

Playing & spending on games shouldn't have any impact on your UC award, unless perhaps your capital is close to £6k and UC suspect you are spending on gaming to deliberately remain under £6k (deprevation of capital).

They usually ask for bank statements for the previous 4 months, so if you've closed an account in that time period yes you would need to still provide statements for it.
