Hello - I'm CurlyChicken
Hello all, I'm CurlyChicken and I have Fibromyalgia, Cervical Spondylosis and severe Osteoarthritis. I have battled since my early 20's…I'm now mid 50's and looking for support from fellow sufferers. I currently work full time but I'm scared my mobility is deteriorating rapidly. I've had two falls recently, resulting in a broken nose, bruising and knocking my confidence.
I do not claim any disability benefits as I tried for PIP some years ago and got turned down. My disability is a lot worse now and I am considering giving it another go.
If anyone here can offer any pearls of wisdom, just feeling very nervous about the future.
Thank you for reading.
Kind regards x

Welcome to the community, @CurlyChicken . Those falls sound really frightening, and it’s completely understandable that your confidence has taken a knock.
I also work while managing mobility issues, and I do receive PIP. From what you have described, it may be worth considering another application now things have changed.
It might help to know that PIP looks at how your conditions affect you, not the conditions themselves. If you do try again, focus on what things are like day to day, falls, needing support to stay safe, fatigue, pain, or difficulties carrying out tasks. A short diary over a couple of weeks can really help you capture what’s happening and support what you say in a new claim.
You don’t have to wait until things get unmanageable before asking for support. The right help can make a real difference.

Hi @CurlyChicken and a warm welcome to the community from me!
I'm sorry to hear you're in so much pain. From what you described it sounds like it would be worth applying for pip especially as your mobility is decreasing. Here is some good information on applying for PIP that I hope will be helpful.
It's lovely to have you here and I hope you enjoy your time on the community😊1
