unable to get time off work

i have an 8 month old with cerebral palsy and have been told by work that lowering my hours to part time does not meet there business needs and i am unable to take time off 3 hours a week for his physiotherepy has anyone else been in this situation and what did they do.

Thanks for that it helped alot, my work place were saying i could only take 18 weeks in one block unpaid, obviously that is not the case.
