Swim Seat

I am trying to help a family find a swimseat for their 6 year old daughter who has severe Cerebral Palsy and is unable to sit up unsupported. They are looking for something that she can sit in and it will support her upper body while she kicks her legs and splashes the water with her arms. She has poor upper body control and tends to push herself back so it would need to support her fully. She weighs around 15kg. Many thanks

Hi Alicia, I think you might need a combination of swim aids. An upper body float jacket that ensures she keeps her head out of the water. She could then be placed in a ring - she could lean forward over the ring (possibly reducing her ability to push back) and splash her hands in the water and her legs can kick under the water.
The other place to try might be your local hydrotherapy pool - ours has lots of amazing things in a big basket!
