A phone call from her teacher saying she hasn't spoken Al day and was crying in class they don't know why and I can't find out why and they have suggested I keep her off school all next week any ideas?

Hi, I see you have posted this in "ask a speech therapist" but had no response!
Your situation may have changed now but if it hasn't then you should ask your GP or the education authority for a referral to an educational psychologist and also possibly to a speech therapist with expertise in elective or selective mutism.
This org (Smira) may also give you some useful information https://www.thecommunicationtrust.org.uk/our-consortium/partner-details.aspx?ID=24
(I am not a speech therapist but have a son with no speech due to CP)
