    Hi merrygoround and welcome

Have you got your decision letter ?

Normally DLA is paid either 1 week in advance and 3 weeks in arrears or 4 weeks in arrears. this should continue for either 3 or 4 weeks
    .
Pip should come into payment 4 weeks in arrears following your decision

Hi, yes. Got my decision letter a couple of weeks ago. Have been given a date for payment, 4 weeks in arrears, but wondered if it would be back-dated from when I put the claim in. I already receive X amount for mobility, but have now also been awarded daily living needs, and wanted to know if this would be back dated. The letter states that first payment will be in Dec 4 weeks in arrears, doesn't mention back-pay. Really confusing

When changing from DLA to PIP there is no back pay. Your DLA is finished with the last payment and your new PIP award starts on the decision date, so there is no award for back pay to apply to

    I hope that makes sense

    Hi @merrygoround

You should transfer from the DLA over to PIP in the end.

"PIP" is the governments new (DLA Benefit)

We will all transfer over to PIP eventually.

At some point DLA will be fazed out as far as I know.

I can't wait for mine to pop through the door !!!!

I have already run through the benefit checker in preperation.

    Many thanks.
