Hi there i made a new claim for pip i have never been on dla before.i wasnt awarded many points so wasnt awarded it.i got refused it when i asked for a reconsideration so sent off a letter for the decision to go to a tribuneral.i recieved a phone call from dwp saying there is not point of having appeal as the lady i spoke to awarded me higher rate of both components.can someone be kind enough to tell me will i recieve a back payment from the day i made my claim and how long will i have to wait.many thanks.

Hopefully our community members will be able to help you with this, as many of them have been through the back payment process themselves. Just to clarify, has it now been confirmed that you're going to receive the higher rate of both components without having to appeal? -
Hi and thanks for the replys.pippa scope yes i sent my letter off and supporting documents for a appeal after being decline when i asked for a MR then 3 weeks later being last friday i recieved a phone call from dwp saying there was no need for a appeal and she has now cancelled appeal and awarded me higher rates on both components which was great news.its been a long hard process its been going on since june 6th last year.ive never recieved dla before so as it was a new pip claim wasnt sure if i should be paid from the 6th june.
