Unsuitable housing for disabled person

I am new to this site so please bear with me
I care for my wife who has primary progressive ms
We currently rent privatey.the house we live in is not suitable .my wife cannot get down the steep slope to get in or out of the house and I have to carry her upstairs and the shower is not suitable as 9 inch step.i have applied to bham city council provided all evidence medical etc.Ot have been out (7 months ago)they have condemned the house as unsuitable for a disabled person with a wheelchair
I am currently in limbo with the council as they ha e changed from paper to internet.i have 'e done online application and now waiting any advice appreciated thanks
