Payment of Carers Allowance will cease IF your state retirement pension is a larger amount than the CA. However, even if that is the case, you will retain an underlying entitlement to CA which is crucial for getting Carers Premium and SDP in means-tested benefits.

Saying it just stops perpetuates the myth that you either can’t claim it over pensionable age or there’s no point. Both are untrue statements.

If you receive PIP pre age 65, then it continues after age 65.  However, the mobility component rate you receive once you pass 65 cannot be increased although the daily living rate could.

I don't know about carer's allowance.  I suggest you phone Age UK helpline.

    Hello teddiepie

As mikehughescq stated CA does not automatically stop when you reach retirement age, and even if payments cease as state pension is a higher amount  underlying entitlement remains.
