I have a son with aspergers, he was on higher rate of care and lower mobility, after a pip assessment we lost our benefits, I ASKED FOR A RECONSIDERATION, BUT HAVE ONLY BEEN awarded lower daily living benefit, which has cut his money in half.

PIP isn't about a diagnosis, it's how those conditions affect you daily. You need to look at the PIP descriptors to see where he can gain those extra points for a higher award, it's pointless taking it to Tribunal if he can't gain those needed points.Once you've looked if it's possible to gain those extra points then he has 28 days from the date of the MR decision to request the Tribunal. He'll need to fill out the SSCS1 form and attach a copy of the MR decision letter to it and send it to the Tribunal. It's a very long process and lots of people are waiting as long as 1 year for their hearing. These links may help you.
