Hi @xxyoungcarerxx
Welcome to the community! I have a chronic illness and have had multiple surgeries and so my three children have been young carers for me.
My opinion is that young carers can be very overlooked and misunderstood and I wish there was more support for them and more education for teachers and schools to understand the needs of young carers.
I met with the Sheffield Young Carers group last year and was so impressed at what they are trying to do. Do you get any support?Scope

Welcome to the community @xxyoungcarerxx!
I'm tagging in Kerami (@mossycow) who I'm sure will be interested in this discussion, she wrote a great guest blog about her experiences with young carers too! -
@Sam_Scope I receive support from my local Carers Trust but from nowhere else xx How old are your children?

@Pippa_Scope Thank you!

School and college support them. I also present a radio show on my local station and on Wednesday evening this week, we are talking to three young carers about their lives, it might be something you and your family might like to listen to? It is live 7-9pm on Wednesday 17th or you can listen again on iplayer after 9pm on Wednesday here.Scope
