Esa appeal and payment

when waiting for an esa appeal, can you only be paid a max of one year esa benefit, even if the appeal takes longer than a year to take place? Also, do they take previous payments into account before being disallowed esa benefit.

Hi,If you're receiving Contributions based ESA then yes it's only paid for 365 days. If it's Income Related then there's no time limit, you'll receive your money while waiting for the hearing regardless of how long you wait.0
