my son has just gone onto uc he’s left full time education he’s been signed off with autism I claim uc Carer’s element for my wife already my son gets pip can I claim uc Carer’s element also for my son

Hello @geeforce. Unfortunately you can only claim the carer element for one person, regardless of how many people you provide care for.

No problem @geeforce. I don't know much about your situation, but just to make you aware, having a carer doesn't necessarily stop you from being able to be one. For example, if the care your wife provides for your son doesn't contradict the reason she needs care, there's no reason she can't claim carer's for him. However, if she has LCWRA on your Universal Credit claim this will prevent her claiming the carer element.
