can you appeal just the one descriptor if you agree with the rest?

It's sometime possibly to just look at the care or mobility section but not a single descriptor.

The tribunal are likely to look at the whole award.

But if you fail on just one descriptor, which would give you the missing points needed for a good result...what do you do?

It's a judgement that you have to make I think, balancing whether the points you have already are at risk of being reduced against the likelihood of points in another category being increased...

in other words, it`s a lottery....with even greater odds than the National!
I have asked for a new care assessment as my needs are greater now than in 2014, when the last one was done.
Each new assessment comes with the same warning. ie `you could end up worse off`....madness!

@pollyanna1052 - not to justify or defend the system at all...but if you could only 'win' then everyone would go to tribunal ..and it's creaking under the strain already...

Hi @Grahamxx, how are you getting on?

Unfortunately you tend to appeal the whole award. If you decide to do so then the community will be able to help you through the process as we have had many members who have been through the same thing.
