Hi all
I called DVLA to ask if my dad can claim a discount on his car tax as my mum has attendance allowance and a blue badge. They said to call the DWP. You know how frustrating it can be to attempt to get through! Does anyone know please?

Hi @Jaanu38, unfortunately not, here is the eligibility:You can apply for exemption from paying vehicle tax if you get the:You also can get 50% off if you get PIP standard rate mobility. I hope this helps/
- higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

- Armed Forces Independence Payment
It must only be used for the disabled person’s personal needs. It cannot be used by the nominated driver for their own personal use.Scope -
