I will ask one of the Scope team to see if they can advise in the morning. Are you a member of a Trade union?

I am not in any union. Trying arbitration first.1

Hi @robdenniseve. Can I ask what prompted the decision to take this to arbitration? We're not legal experts here, so I think it's really important you find some reliable legal advice about this.
Tribunals don't require that you bring representation, but I think you're on the right track by trying to find some.
If you're able to pay, you can obviously find legal representation through The Law Society, but if that's not an option, Advocate can potentially help you find a barrister who can represent you in court (but not prepare the case) and there's also the Free Representation Unit.1 -
Hi Adrian. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated. My company have dismissed me because of capabilities due to my disability. I feel they have treated me badly so have contacted Acas for arbitration. I just wondered at what stage I might need a solicitor?0
-
Hi @robdenniseve. Unfortunately as we're not legal experts here it wouldn't be appropriate for me to advise, but as I understand it, the decision made by the arbitrator is deemed final and it's very hard to overturn it or appeal the decision. You should really seek some legal advice about the whole process if you haven't.
Try the links I've provided above. You might also find some help at your nearest law clinic - https://www.lawworks.org.uk/legal-advice-individuals/find-legal-advice-clinic-near-you0 -
Thanks a lot Adrian0
