Hi, I have carers and have Direct Payments to pay for the majority of the cost. I pay £39.22 a week towards them.
I am about to lose one of them and am replacing her with an agency. I also have a long term carer, who I love and am so lucky to have such a caring person.
I live with my hubby who does the bulk of my care, but that will change soon, as he is struggling. He is 71 now and has RA.
All this has been arranged by Social Services. You need to ask them to do an assessment. You will also have to have a financial assessment if you need your care to be funded by the council.
You can of course, arrange this privately and pay for it yourself.
