No one is willing in general to give me a chance, despite a glowing CV, references etc

Hello, my name is Alex Wardle, I am a third year university student who is set to graduate in May of next year and my question to all of you is this. It seem that no one is willing in general to give me a chance when it comes to a part time job despite a glowing CV, references and character descriptions. Please advise, many thanks.
