Carers element Universal Crediy

ponies

My Friend is on Universal Credit She’s single, over 25yrs old.
she has only just gone on to U.C. She was told She’d be getting £20 extra per week until Sept 21 to help her living costs due to the COVID epidemic.
She has been asked to be a Carer for a family member, who’s in receipt of Attendance Allowance 35hours plus per week. She can then claim £163 per month as she can apply for Carers Element.
will this stop her getting £20 per wk that She’s getting now, if She becomes the Carer & gets the Carers element of U.C

No it won't the extra is applied on the standard allowance and doesn't affect other elements like carers
