If you're on standard rate, and awarded higher rate after review, is the difference backpayed?

If someone is on standard rate and are awarded higher rate after review is the difference backpayed? Hope everyone is well x

    It will only be backdated to date decision was made for a review

    I think it is day they made decision but I might be wrong sorry hopefully others will know exactly

    It depends on whether the review was initiated by the DWP, in which case the change takes place from the date of decision, or whether the review was initiated because you reported a change in how your health affects you, in which case it is backdated to when you did so.
