My daughter has applied for carers allowance for taking care of me how long does it take for a decision?

    It varies, it used to take a couple of months but I don’t know current times. I expect there is a backlog because it’s possibly an area that staff were moved from to help with UC. Others may be able to post with recent experience.

    My daughter applied for carers allowance for looking after me on the 12th August 2021 but we haven't heard anything back yet how long is the normal timescale?

    She applied on the 12th August but still hasn't heard anything

    Even under normal times it can take 8-12 weeks. These are far from normal times so how long is anyone's guess.
