How long does it take after assessment for a decision?

I had my assessment via telephone on 3 August does anyone know how long it takes after assessment for a decision? It’s been 15 days since phone assessment but 22 weeks overall (so far) it’s adding to an already stressful time

I think people tend to say the average is 6-8 weeks although there are no set in stone timeframes.

Thank you for replying it takes so long I didn’t realise when I was first told to apply that it would be up to 6 months hopefully I’ll hear something soon

A very warm welcome.

You could phone the PIP helpline and request a copy of the assessment report. With this to hand, you will be able to see what points, have been given, for each activity.

You will then also see what award has been recommended to DWP.

You should keep an eye on your bank account, as money is often paid in, prior to the award letter arriving.

We have all been through, the dreaded waiting game.

I got my decision and payment on 31/08/21 I had enhanced for daily living and standard for mobility x

It's doing my head in been 2 weeks since had phone assessment rang dwp they say its with a decision maker nothing been done yet its making me so nervous as waiting to see as have a care act assessment atm so.wilk need to help fund carers so that's why pip is important for me. Currently got a mate caring fir me can't do that for ever

As advised DWP say it can take 8 weeks to get a decision, in practice it can, at the moment, be slightly longer. Unfortunately you just have to wait for the time being.

@kellyloux, hello, have you phoned the DWP and requested a copy of the your assessment report and on receiving it you can work out what your award may should be but you still have to wait for the official award notification letter.

I had my back payment yesterday hun on 31/08/21 I’m still waiting for award letter but I was given enhanced for daily living and standard for mobility so I’m really happy if you would like to know the timescale 
I phoned for pip forms on 31/03/21
i had assessment on 03/08/21
txt from dwp confirming they’d received assessment on 16/08/21
had payment on 31/08/21
