Motability in later life

I've only just discovered the motability scheme doesn't extend to people claiming attendance allowance. I know it's a long way off yet but does this mean once we reach retirement age we will have to change from pip to aa and lose the lease of the car? the idea worries me as neither my husband or I or physically capable of maintaining our own car. What do other disabled people do when this happens to them?

Hi @starbuck
hope you are well.
If you are currently receiving PIP you will continue to do so after you reach state pension age, however it is generally new claims that you will not be able to make at that point. This thread is 14 months old. I'm not sure what you mean by this anyway. As has been advised, if you're already claiming PIP when you reach state pension age, it will continue for as long as you remain entitled to it.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Would you be able to tell us a little bit more about what you meant by your comment @UrsulaFond22?
