Hi there,
So just to cut a long story short…
My original PIP claim made in Feb 2017 had already been preselected by DWP to be looked at again under the “LEAP” review as I was only award standard daily care rate even though I always thought it should have been more and definitely some kind of mobility rate considering all my disabilities but like a lot of people I never appealed at the time.
However, I finally contacted PIP department in Feb 2021 after hearing about the LEAP review and that I should be getting more money after seeking advice!

After my video call assessment, I finally received my award letter last week stating they will continue to award me the enhanced rate for daily care but I am not entitled to any mobility part money after my assessment.
However, I have only ever been on standard rate for daily care (around £59 p/W) so I don’t know what game they are playing at!!
Letter says I will receive my next payment in a couple of weeks which is only the amount you would get each month at enhanced rate. I’ve been getting around £240 every 4 weeks prior.
It doesn’t say what backdated payment I would be getting even from when I first reapplied to be reassessed. Nothing about them looking at my Feb 2017 claim under leap review either.
All letter does say is that “now they have made a decision, then might owe me some money and they will write to me”.
This is really stressful for me because I know I have been underpaid for years now and they haven’t even given me an idea of any amount they will pay me for backpay… please can you help me???

Hi,
We can only guess what’s happened and I’m afraid you will need to ring them when they open and ask. Do be aware though that it can take quite a while for them to answer.1 -
Have you been able to give them a call @tony1987?0
